Neil Shah,

Research & Development Engineer

Neil Shah

Mr. Shah is an R&D Engineer responsible for various filtration R&D projects at FSI. He works with various lab apparatus and analytical instruments to carry out tests required for the research and development of filtration technology. He also works in the field to identify and configure filtration processes desired for several projects and customers.

Mr. Shah earned his Masters degree in Environmental Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Among numerous academic projects, one involving the interaction of gaseous oxidized mercury with various atmospheric salts served to sharpen his skills with analytical instruments. He also worked with Colourtex studying the dyeing properties of reactive dyes, gaining experience in performing quality tests like Karl Fisher, cloud point, pH determination, GC, HPLC etc. He was involved in waste water treatment using three membrane filtration: one for nano-filtration and two for reverse osmosis. Mr. Shah also worked with Colourquip in the R&D department, using a common acid-base flocculation method to treat waste water.

He has extensive experience working with analytical instruments such as gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, UV/Vis spectroscopy, high performance liquid chromatography, atomic spectroscopy, and chemical ionization mass spectrometry. He has also worked on a companies patent to design 'The unhoused Coiled Membrane Filter' that provides a cost-effective design and highly effective performance.

Mr. Shah earned a B.Tech. in Chemical Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technology from India and an M.S. Environmental Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is also OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR certified and USEPA SUPERFUND certified.
