Boiler Feed and Power Generator Water and High Pressure Steam Generation
High purity feed water reduces the use of boiler chemicals because boiler blow-down is required less frequently with clean feed. This also results in lower fuel cost. Scale buildup is reduced due to a smaller concentration of impurities in the boiler feed water which foul heat transfer surfaces. The lower level of impurities not only reduces corrosion rates in the boiler, but also reduces the erosion of the turbine blades. FSI's RO systems are designed to produce high purity feed water from many different water sources. Table RO-1 and Table RO-2 show the typical performance of FSI's RO Systems. For special applications, these systems can be combined with ion exchangers for further polishing of the feed water and de-gasifiers to lower the oxygen content of the feed water.
